Since 15 September 2026, Germans entering for tourism receive up to 30 days without a visa. Immigration determines the permitted period.

| New rule | Up to 30 days since 15 September 2026; extension by application only. |
Current German travel advice states a maximum of 30 days for visa-free entry since 15 September 2026. For German tourists, this replaces the earlier 60-day rule. Evidence of onward or return travel remains important.
A one-time extension of up to 30 days for tourism is possible. It must be requested from Thai immigration before the permitted period expires and is not automatic. Tourist visas obtained in advance generally allow up to 60 days.
