Safety noticeRussia
Germany's Federal Foreign Office continues to warn against travel to Russia. Drone attacks may cause airport closures and fuel shortages.

| Country | Russia |
|---|---|
| Who is affected | Travellers to Russia, especially German and German-Russian nationals |
| Previous rule | This report does not change visa rules. |
| New rule | The travel warning remains; flight and fuel disruption is possible. |
Current advice reports drone attacks in locations including Moscow and the area around Saint Petersburg. Airports are repeatedly closed for hours. Damage to refineries causes regional fuel shortages and limits on fuel sales.
The Federal Foreign Office recommends postponing non-essential travel and considering departure if already in the country. Germans and German-Russian dual nationals also face a risk of arbitrary detention.
Check specific flights directly with the airline and follow local security instructions. The issue of a visa does not confirm that travel is safe or that transport routes will operate without disruption.
